A cosy countryside escape at Wheatacre Hall Barns

Set on our family farm in the Waveney Valley, Wheatacre Hall Barns offers a peaceful place to slow down, spend quality time together and enjoy the best of the surrounding countryside.

Our farm has been in the family for generations and remains home to our milking herd, producing milk for Arla and a number of local businesses. Farming is a huge part of who we are, and we’re proud to share a little of that heritage with everyone who visits.

Whether you’re planning a family half-term break, a few days away with friends or simply some time out of your usual routine, our converted barns offer a welcoming home from home.

Meet Woodcock Barn: your half-term hideaway

Our neighbouring Woodcock and Snipe barns may be compact, but they are full of character and charm. With traditional beams, oak accessories, natural textures and sumptuous leather sofas, Woodcock Barn combines rustic features with the comforts you need for a relaxing stay.

Sleeping up to six guests, plus cots, Woodcock is ideal for families looking for somewhere to settle in after a day exploring Norfolk and Suffolk.

Inside, you’ll find an open-plan sitting and dining room, a well-equipped kitchen and three bedrooms: one with a king-size bed, one with a 5ft zip-and-link bed that can be arranged as twins, and a third with two single beds. There’s also a family bathroom with a bath and separate shower, plus an additional shower room and cloakroom.

When the autumn sunshine makes an appearance, head outside to your own patio area, complete with garden furniture and a barbecue.

Enjoy something delicious at The Farmhouse Kitchen and Pantry

One of the best things about staying at Wheatacre Hall Barns is having The Farmhouse Kitchen and Pantry right here on the farm.

Whether you’re starting the day with breakfast, stopping for lunch after a family adventure or treating yourselves to afternoon tea, there’s plenty to enjoy without having to travel far.

Our kitchen celebrates good food, with our own farm produce playing a part in the dishes we serve. It’s a chance to enjoy the flavours of the farm and make mealtimes part of your stay, too.

After a busy day out, you stop in the pantry to pick up some goods, return to your barn, put your feet up and enjoy a slower evening together.

About Us

As a multi-generational family-run farm and business, our heritage and story are so meaningful to us and act as the life force behind all that we do. The farm itself started with one man, a few cows and some pigs, and over the generations, we have changed, adapted and grown to where we are now. The Farmhouse Kitchen is a natural extension of our farm, giving us another opportunity to serve our local community and create meaningful connections with those around us.
