The Farmhouse Kitchen Supper Club – A Mexican Fiesta to Remember

There’s nothing quite like sharing food, stories, and laughter around a table – and our latest Supper Club at The Farmhouse Kitchen & Pantry did just that. For our second themed evening, we transported guests from the Norfolk countryside to the vibrant streets of Mexico with a Mexican Fiesta Supper Club full of bold flavours, beautiful dishes, and a welcoming atmosphere.

With the cosy setting of our converted stable here in Wheatacre, Norfolk, and guests joining us from both the local community and the Wheatacre Hall Barns holiday cottages, it was an evening that celebrated good food, local produce, and great company.

A Fiesta on the Table

Our chefs went all out to create a menu that blended authentic Mexican flavours with the best of local ingredients. To start, guests tucked into chilli beef nachos loaded with guacamole, salsa, sour cream, jalapeños, and Mexican chilli cheese – the perfect sharing dish to kick off the evening.

The main event saw plates of pressed yellow and blue maize tacos, each filled with a different flavour combination to suit every palate:

  • Lime & Ancho Chilli Prawn with tomatillo salsa, pickled red cabbage, cucumber and tomato salad, finished with coriander mayo
  • Arbol Chilli Glazed Pork Belly topped with pickled carrots, salsa, avocado cream, and crispy pork skin
  • Chipotle Roasted Cauliflower with mango salsa, feta cheese, and crispy onions – a vibrant vegetarian option
  • Pasilla Chicken served with charred corn, black beans, and chilli cheese

Just when it seemed the feast couldn’t get any better, the main course was served – a rich enchilada filled with confit duck, rice, and a traditional mole poblano sauce. On the side came pico de gallo, corn ribs, and refried beans, adding a fresh and comforting touch to the dish.

To finish, guests enjoyed a light yet indulgent dessert: a lime pannacotta paired with honeycomb and a delicate cinnamon biscuit – the perfect sweet note to round off a night of spice and zest.

More Than a Meal – A Community Gathering

While the food was undoubtedly the star, the heart of our Farmhouse Kitchen Supper Club lies in the atmosphere. From our friendly front-of-house team to the chefs working their magic in the kitchen, everything came together to create a night where guests felt truly welcome.

The supper club is all about bringing people together – whether you’re a local looking for something different to do in Norfolk, or a guest staying at Wheatacre Hall Barns and wanting to experience an evening of great food and company.

We love showcasing themed menus that celebrate global flavours, while still staying true to our roots with locally sourced produce and ingredients from trusted suppliers.

Supper Club – Back in the New Year

With Christmas just around the corner, we’ll be pressing pause on the Supper Club for now as our attention turns to festive celebrations. Keep your eyes peeled for our Christmas menus and upcoming events, which will be announced very soon.

The Supper Club will be back in the new year with more exciting themes and menus to enjoy. We can’t wait to welcome you again in 2026 for more evenings filled with delicious food, great company, and plenty of atmosphere.

A Heartfelt Thank You

To everyone who joined us for our Mexican Fiesta Supper Club – thank you. The laughter, conversation, and empty plates told us everything we needed to know: it was a night to remember.

If you’re searching for supper clubs in Norfolk or Suffolk, or looking for a special evening out while staying at Wheatacre Hall Barns, The Farmhouse Kitchen Supper Club is the perfect choice for an unforgettable night of food and community.

About Us

As a multi-generational family-run farm and business, our heritage and story are so meaningful to us and act as the life force behind all that we do. The farm itself started with one man, a few cows and some pigs, and over the generations, we have changed, adapted and grown to where we are now. The Farmhouse Kitchen is a natural extension of our farm, giving us another opportunity to serve our local community and create meaningful connections with those around us.
