ONE Whole Year of The Farmhouse Kitchen

A Celebration of Food, Farming, Community… and What’s Next

On the 7th of April, we proudly celebrated one whole year of The Farmhouse Kitchen – and what an incredible year it’s been.

From our very first day to a calendar filled with seasonal menus, events, and unforgettable moments, this journey has been shaped by the people who walk through our doors every day. Your support, conversations, and continued visits have turned this into something far more than just a café and farm shop – it’s become a true community space 🤍

A Year Rooted in Farming & Family

Everything begins on the farm.

The Burroughs family legacy, spanning generations across Norfolk and Suffolk, continues to shape everything we do today. With nearly 500 pedigree dairy cows and over 1,000 acres of working farmland, our connection to the land is at the heart of every dish, every product, and every experience we offer.

From pasture to plate, it’s a story of care, quality, and commitment to doing things properly.

The First Year: Our Best Bits

Looking back, this past year has been filled with standout moments:

  • Supper Clubs that sell out time and time again, bringing people together over bold, seasonal menus
  • Winning the Field to Fork Award at the Norfolk & Suffolk Food & Drink Awards 2025
  • Seasonal menus built around local produce and our own farm ingredients
  • A continued focus on sustainability, regenerative farming, and supporting local suppliers

From quiet coffee mornings to buzzing evening events, every day has played a part in building something special.

More Than a Kitchen: A Full Countryside Experience

Alongside the kitchen, The Pantry remains a cornerstone of what we do – offering fresh produce, local goods, and a chance to take a piece of the farm home.

And with Wheatacre Hall Barns just steps away, guests can turn a simple visit into a full countryside escape, combining great food, peaceful surroundings, and a true taste of rural Norfolk life.

Supper Clubs: A Year of Unforgettable Evenings

Over the past year, our supper clubs have quietly become one of the most talked-about experiences here at The Farmhouse Kitchen.

With four events so far – each completely different – they’ve built a reputation for:

  • Relaxed, welcoming atmospheres
  • Bold, thoughtfully created menus
  • Food designed for sharing and conversation

Our March supper club was a perfect example – from rich, slow-cooked starters to an impressive tomahawk steak centrepiece, it was an evening that reminded us exactly why people keep coming back.

These nights aren’t about formality – they’re about great food, done properly, in good company.

Some of Our Favourite Moments This Year

  • Sip, Shop & Sparkle: Our festive late-night shopping evening filled with local makers, mulled wine, and Christmas atmosphere
  • Christmas Dining: A seasonal menu that brought friends and families together over comforting, farm-to-fork dishes
  • Breakfast with Santa: A magical morning that created special memories for families during the festive season
  • Mother’s Day: A beautiful opportunity to celebrate mums and loved ones with great food and time well spent together
  • Afternoon Tea Launch: A standout new addition to our offering – and now proudly a Muddy Stilettos Award finalist

Looking Ahead: Year Two

If year one was about creating something special, year two is about growing it even further.

We’re excited to be working on:

Expanded Outdoor Spaces

More room to relax, dine, and enjoy the countryside setting:

  • Outdoor seating areas for warmer days
  • Spaces designed for gathering and slowing down
  • Even more connection to the farm surroundings

New Animal Residents

We’re also introducing more animals to the farm experience, creating a space that’s even more engaging for families and visitors of all ages.

It’s about making your visit not just a meal – but an experience.

Thank You 🤍

We say it often, but it’s because we mean it – we couldn’t have done this without you.

Every visit, every recommendation, every kind word has helped shape The Farmhouse Kitchen & Pantry into what it is today.

Here’s to Year Two… and Beyond 🥂

With new menus, events, outdoor spaces, and experiences on the horizon, we’re just getting started.

Whether you’re joining us for brunch, browsing The Pantry, attending a supper club, or celebrating something special, we can’t wait to welcome you.

Here’s to many more memorable moments at The Farmhouse Kitchen & Pantry.

About Us

As a multi-generational family-run farm and business, our heritage and story are so meaningful to us and act as the life force behind all that we do. The farm itself started with one man, a few cows and some pigs, and over the generations, we have changed, adapted and grown to where we are now. The Farmhouse Kitchen is a natural extension of our farm, giving us another opportunity to serve our local community and create meaningful connections with those around us.
